Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Town Hall, Lewes, East Sussex - geograph.org.uk - 1110477.jpg |
English: The Town Hall, Lewes, East Sussex The present Town Hall dates from 1893, though whether this is adapted from an existing structure I am unsure. The Lewes Town Council Website includes this comment regarding the building, "By 1893, Samuel Denman of Brighton had converted it into a Town Hall. Sir Nicholas Pevsner disliked his new very red façade, which romps from Romanesque to Renaissance, from terracotta window boxes to keenly-cut keystones."
