| Description |
English: The former Withens Hotel, Wainstalls. This was built as a farm in 1862. It became a public house, but closed after being damaged by fire in 2001 (information from Malcolm Bull's Calderdale Companion http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~calderdalecompanion/p200_w.html#w311), and is now a house. It claimed to be the highest inn in West Yorkshire, at approximatly 423m. On the right is the Millennium Beacon - see 1279578. |
