| Description |
English: The modern lorry road viewed from pitch C3 (east). This road climbs from the main Llanberis road (A4086) at the end of Llyn Peris in a series of alpine bends to, and past, C3 drumhouse before crossing westwards through the former extraction area to Ffeiar Injan and on, following the old horse tramway bed, to Allt ddu and the main Dinorwig-Deiniolen road. It takes considerably longer to walk down the road from C3 roller than it used to take to walk down the incline pitches.Unfortunately, the redevelopment of the Victoria and Wellington districts have led to obliteration of much of the C1-C3 systems. What remains shows what fabulous structures they were.
I've only just noticed the interesting patterns made by the withered bracken in the green roadside field on the other side of Llyn Peris. It looks as if Mother Nature has gone into the advertising game. Or could it be Snowdonia's answer to corn circles? |
