| Description |
English: The site of the town of Maelmin from the heritage trail. The town buried in the fields here was built around AD 650 and occupied for some 200 years. The settlement probably came to this site from Ad Gefrin (Yeavering) 1729341. Aerial photographs show the presence of many timber buildings 1731210, including great halls similar to those at Yeavering. The town was surrounded by a substantial wooden palisade.
