Description
Deutsch: Denkmal für Tómas Sæmundsson (7. Juní 1807 - 17. Mai 1841) auf dem Friedhof der Kirche in Breiðabólstað. Er reiste von 1832-1834 durch Europa. Er gehörte als Student mit Brynjólfur Pétursson, Konráð Gíslason und Jónas Hallgrímsson, alle Studenten in Kopenhagen, zu den "Fjölnismenn", die die Zeitschrift "Fjölnir", die der romantischen Richtung der Selbständigkeitsbewegung und Spracherneuerung angehörte, herausgaben. Er verfasste den 5. Jahrgang und einige Reiseberichte. Ab 1835 war er Pfarrer in Breiðabólstað in Fljótshlíð.
