English: This is a part of a composite map of 31 sheets from a rare 1808 atlas of southern Italy (then called the Kingdom of Naples) published by the famous cartographer Rizzi Zannoni (1736-1814). The maps are based on trigonometric survey and represent a new level of accuracy for Italian mapping. The Cassini projection is used. Relief is shown pictorially in a style that very elegant and unusual. |
