Summary[edit]

Description

Tower of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem (near Holy Sepulcher). It costs 3 NIS (about 75 cents) to climb to the top, but the view is definitely worth it. The spiral staircase is very narrow, allowing only one person at a time. There are several landings on the way up to allow those heading in the opposite direction to pass. With no artificial lighting along the way, the staircase is generally dark and, in one section near the top, completely so.
