Methodology / Méthodologie

English: Based on 358 requests to the SNCF's website ([1]) for travel from Paris to several French cities on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Each time, the best travel time on that day, including travel times using SNCF's buses or other bus services shown on SNCF's website, has been shown on this map. The requests have been made in May 2015. When applicable, the travel time from Paris to the "TGV station" has been taken into account, as opposed to the travel time to the central station.
All prefectures have been shown on this map, except Ajaccio and Bastia (in Corsica, so they cannot be reached from Paris using SNCF's network), Bobigny, Créteil and Nanterre (too close to Paris). This map also shows 268 other important cities and towns, chosen because of their size, or because they are the only significant city in a large part of France.
Other travel times (those that are not for cities marked with a dot) have not been checked on SNCF's website and are very approximate.
Français : Carte basée sur 358 requêtes sur le site de la SNCF ([2]) pour des trajets de Paris vers différentes villes de France métropolitaine le mardi 2 juin 2015. A chaque fois, le meilleur temps de parcours proposé ce jour-là, y compris en empruntant des cars SNCF ou d'autres services de car proposés par voyages-sncf.com, est montré par cette carte. Les requêtes ont été faites en mai 2015. Le cas échéant, les temps de parcours de Paris vers la gare "bis" TGV ont été pris en compte au lieu des temps de parcours vers la gare centrale.
Tous les chef-lieux des départements (préfectures) sont présents sur la carte sauf Ajaccio et Bastia (la Corse n'est pas accessible par train depuis Paris), ainsi que Bobigny, Créteil et Nanterre (trop proches de Paris). De plus, 268 autres villes sont présentes soit à cause de leur taille, soit de leur importance à l'échelle régionale ou locale.
Les autres temps de parcours (pour les villes qui sont absentes de la carte) n'ont pas été vérifies et sont très approximatifs.
