Trondhjems Turnforening i Turnhallen, Prinsens gate 1 A, grunnlagt 1858; 1424 mdl. (2007). Foreningen var Trondheims første idrettsforening og arrangerte 1861 sitt første turnstevne på Marienborg. Den leide lokaler i Den Borgerlige Clubs gård i Kjøpmannsgata inntil den 1.2.1863 kunne flytte inn i Turnhallen, som var Foreningens lokale inntil 2000 da Turnhallen ble integrert i Statens hus og Turnforeningen fikk nye lokaler i et lokale som delvis befinner seg under gatenivå. Foreningen ble 1865 slått sammen med Trondhjems Vaabenøvelsesforening til Trondhjems Turn- og Skytterlag. Denne foreningen ble igjen delt i to, Trondhjems Skytterlag og Trondhjems Turnforening. Foreningens første instruktør, Goldammer, virket i Trondheim 1860 - 1864.
