Description
English: Lance Cpl. Cheyenne Macintosh, a 20-year-old Assault Amphibian Vehicle crewman from Seaman, Ohio, was with a U.S. Marine convoy enroute to Haditha, Iraq, late last month when his convoy came upon another Marine convoy which had been struck with a roadside bomb. Macintosh searched for survivors among the wreckage. I saw the Marines lying on the ground and I wanted to help them, but there was nothing I could do for them, recalled Macintosh. They were already gone. It was like seeing my brothers die. They were all my friends. Roadside bombs, commonly referred to as IEDs, or improvised explosive devices, by Coalition Forces serving in Iraq, remain one of the number-one killers of U.S. and Iraqi military forces in Iraq.
