Description
English: The U.S. Navy guided missile cruiser USS Columbus (CG-12) maneuvering during a readiness demonstration by Task Force 10 for the U.S. president John F. Kennedy on 25 May 1963. Kennedy was then embarked on the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63), not visible, operating in the eastern Pacific. The aircraft carrier in the background is an Essex-class carrier.
