Summary[edit]

Description The U.S. Navy destroyer tender USS Prairie (AD-15) moored to a pier and decorated with bunting prior to its decommissioning ceremony on 26 March 1993 at Naval Station Long Beach, California (USA). The "Don't Treat on Me" flag flying from the vessel's mast signifies that the Prairie was the oldest ship in U.S. naval service at that time. Following its decommissioning, that role was assumed by the submarine tender USS Orion (AS-18).
