Summary[edit]

Description The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CV-60) tied up at the British Naval Base at Diego Garcia. The Saratoga, with assigned Carrier Air Wing 17 (CVW-17), was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean from 5 June to 16 November 1987. Note: dates incorrect. Saratoga was in the I/O at the end of 85, left in 86. Did NOT go to the I/O in 87-was a Med only cruise. I was onboard at the time.
