English: The U.S. Navy escort carrier USS Sicily (CVE-118) at the Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan, circa in February 1954, with the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown (CVA-10) at right and eleven LCM landing craft in the foreground. Grumman AF Guardian anti-submarine aircraft are parked on Sicily's flight deck. Yorktown, with assigned Carrier Air Group 2 (CVG-2), was deployed to the Western Pacific from 3 August 1953 to 3 March 1954. Note the North American SNJ Texan in the center of Yorktown's flight deck. |
