Summary[edit]

Description
English: Originally a three-story hotel completed in 1911, this building was home to the Manhattan Hotel, a house of prostitution, and the Manhattan Restaurant. The location is also known as the Dalton Building. The Universal Boot Shop opened on the ground floor in 1921. The building underwent a substantial Art Nouveau renovation in 1930. Streicher Shoes operated here until 1944, when the Universal Boot Shop returned as the 5th Avenue Bootery, remaining until the 1980s.
