L’agglomération du Brabant-Septentrional est depuis longtemps un grand centre industriel, pas seulement avec Philips et la construction d’équipements électriques/électroniques, mais aussi par la réalisation de matériel de transport (camions DAF). Ici des cars sortis de chaîne attendent leur livraison chez le client. Les produits issus du constructeur néerlandais étaient diffusés sous 3 marques:
Depuis la fin de décennie 2000 l'ensemble de la gamme, rationalisée, est badgée sous la raison unique VDL. Le groupe possède à côté un site de construction VL, NedCar Born (anciennement DAF puis Volvo), racheté à Mitsubishi peu après. Ce dernier spécialisé dans la sous-traitance de petites séries pour des acteurs majeurs du marché automobile: BMW, PSA... Le grand concurrent régional est le belge Van Hool, dont l'usine est distante de 85 km...Nederlands: VDL Groep Valkenswaard hoofdkantoor, zuid van Eindhoven, Nederland.
Deze naam verzamelt 3 voormalige busbouwers: Berkhof, Bova en Jonckheere (Roeselare - B). Het nieuwe bedrijf is ook eigenaar van de Nedcar Born autofabriek. |
