Description
English: Artist's rendering of Vega. Blue-tinged white main-sequence star 25 ly away in the constellation of Lyra - Has an unusually low abundance of elements heavier than helium - Its rapid rotation causes the equator to bulge outward and poles to have the highest temperatures (one of the poles is pointing towards Earth) - At 455 million years old, it is at half its expected main-sequence lifespan before becoming a red giant and then a white dwarf -
