Summary[edit]
DescriptionView Above Ambleside - geograph.org.uk - 1549542.jpg |
English: View Above Ambleside The main part of Ambleside lies to the left, out of picture. The houses seen in this picture are on the outskirts, and are clustered at the foot of Wansfell Pike, which is out of sight on the right. The lower slopes of Snarker Pike are seen to the right, and "The Struggle", the road which makes its way up to the top of Kirkstone Pass, can just be made out on the extreme right of picture. This road has four single arrow climbs at the Ambleside end, and a double arrow climb at the top.
I can claim to have cycled it in both directions, but it was more a case of burning rubber, and praying that nothing broke on the descent! |
