Über die verstockte Königin wurde nun Gericht gehalten. Sie wurde zum Tode auf dem Scheiterhaufen verurteilt. Als das Feuer um sie her brannte, bereute sie ihre Sünde und flehte zur Jungfrau um Vergebung. Alsbald löschte Regen die Flamme und die Jungfrau erschien in den Wolken mit den drei Königskindern und gab sie der Königin zurück. Da war eitel Freude im ganzen Land. = Judgment was now passed on the stubborn Queen. She was sentenced to death by burning at the stake. As the fire rose around her, she repented of her sin and begged the Virgin Mary for forgiveness. Immediately rain quenched the flames and the Virgin Mary appeared in the clouds with the three royal children and gave them back to the Queen. There was great rejoicing throughout the land. Red-clad hooded executioners set the pyre ablaze. Facing death, the Queen prays for forgiveness; rain extinguishes the flames, and the Virgin Mary appears with the three royal children in her care.
