English: This contemporary Filipino sword came from Iloilo province in the western Visayas.

More specifically, the bolo came from Barangay Binggawan in the town of Badiangan, a place known for its bladesmiths.

In the local (Panay) dialect, the bolo is called a binangon. It is a multi-purpose bolo used for work as well as for personal defense.

The hilt is made of wood. The ferrule is made of metal. The leather "throat" on the scabbard is made out of cowhide.

Overall length: 528 mm (20.8 inches); Blade length: 400 mm (15.8 inches); Maximum blade thickness: 4.5 mm (3/16 inch); Scabbard length: 424 mm (16.7 inches)
