Description

Оклад Владимирской иконы Божьей матери.

Мастерские Московского Кремля,1657 Мастер Иванов Петр Золото, серебро, камни драгоценные, жемчуг, камни, стекло, ткань Чеканка, эмаль, золочение, скань, шитье жемчугом Высота 105 см. Ширина 70 см.

Самый роскошный золотой оклад на икону «Богоматерь Владимирская» был выполнен в 1657 году мастером Петром Ивановым по заказу патриарха Никона. Его коруну, венец и цаты сплошь покрывают выложенные как мозаика драгоценные камни и жемчуг. Дополняют украшение два редких по величине и качеству изумруда. Вес каждого 100 каратов (или 20 граммов). В природе такие изумруды встречаются довольно редко.
