Summary[edit]

Description

Het gebouw naar een ontwerp van L. Valk, heeft verschillende functies gehad zoals magazijnen, smederij, loodgieterswerkplaats, blikslagerij. Op historische foto’s is de rij schoorstenen van de achttien smidsvuren nog te zien. De Smederij was het laatst in gebruik als schilderswerkplaats en magazijn voor de bankwerkers. In de Tweede Wereldoorlog is het pand door een bom getroffen. In 1958 is de zolder gesloopt en is er een verdieping op geplaatst waarin de kantine en een feestzaal werden ondergebracht. Deze is bij de restauratie verwijderd.
