English: Hydroelectric dam Stratou,Greece
English: The hydroelectric dam situated Etoloakarnania area, on the river Acheloos. Located north of the Agrinio and west of the village Stratos, from where it got its name. Constructed in 1989 and created the artificial lake of Stratos, the third largest artificial lake of Acheloos, after Kastrakiou lakes and Kremasta. The hydroelectric plant has four power plants with a total capacity 150 MW and together with the other dams holds 10% of the annual production of the country's power. However, according to WWF-PPC itself provides for a reduction of 274 GWh of the total energy produced in the Acheloos, due to reduced benefits to Stratos dams, Kremasta Kastraki. Technically it belongs to the clay rock fills barrier |
