Summary[edit]

Description
English: Artist’s impression of WR 148 — spectroscopic binary in the constellation Cygnus with 4.3-day orbit. The primary is a Wolf-Rayet star and one of the most luminous stars known, while the secondary is a black hole candidate but may be a blue supergiant. The visible component is 44 M and 26.5 R. WR star will explode as a supernova very quickly by astronomical timescales leaving behind a black hole or collapse directly to black hole.
