English: Photographie allemande (col. Normandie Mémoire)

Une colonne de prisonniers français croise une colonne hippomobile allemande. Selon Michel Boivin qui présente cette photo page 189 tome 2 de son livre: Les Manchois dans la tourmente de la seconde guerre mondiale chez Eurocibles, 2004. " Prisonniers français se dirigeant vers Avranches " Selon cet auteur il y avait sur la ligne de front Carentan-Portbail : -le 6 ème Bataillon du 208 ème régiment d'infanterie. -le Dépôt 33. -un bataillon de Sénégalais du 27 ème RI Coloniale -un bataillon du 329 ème RI venant du Havre. En tout environ 2000 hommes. 

Le 23 juin 1940, 13 000 prisonniers à Saint Lô répartis en 4 endroits dans la ville.

Il y eut 4 camps de prisonniers " Frontstalags " dans la Manche : Beuzeville la Bastille du 19 au 22 Juin Valognes fermé en Juillet Cherbourg et Saint-Lô en activité jusqu'en Février 1941.
