Description
English: The Norwegian parliament building (Norwegian: Stortingsbygningen) in Oslo in German-occupied Norway during World War II, with a swastika flag of Nazi Germany (Reichsdienstflagge, governmental Reich service flag) on the roof. The image also shows the German Nazi slogan Deutschland siegt an allen Fronten ('Germany is victorious on all fronts') and the German V-sign on the front of the building, as well as the Eidsvoll plass square with passersby. Stortinget.no on the Storting building during World War II:

On April 9, 1940, the Second World War came to Norway, and German soldiers took over the Storting building. For five years, the Storting (Norwegian Parliament) was out of operation, and the building was occupied by German forces. (...) The Storting building was actively used by the occupation regime throughout the war. (...) Terboven moved out of the Storting building and handed it over to Vidkun Quisling's collaborationist government on February 1, 1945. The swastika on the flagpole was replaced with the Norwegian flag after five years. (...) After liberation on May 8, 1945, the occupation forces and their symbols were quickly removed from the Storting building. The first session of the Storting in liberated Norway took place on June 14.

Den 9. april 1940 kom krigen til Norge og tyske soldater inntok stortingsbygningen. I fem år var Stortinget satt ut av spill og bygningen overtatt av tyske okkupanter. (...) Stortingsbygningen var i aktiv bruk av okkupasjonsregimet gjennom hele krigen. (...) Terboven flyttet ut av stortingsbygningen og overlot den til Quislings regjering den 1. februar 1945. Hakekorset i flaggstangen ble etter fem år byttet ut med det norske flagget. (...) Etter frigjøringen 8. mai 1945 ble okkupasjonsmakten og dens symboler raskt fjernet fra stortingsbygningen. Den 14. juni ble det første stortingsmøtet i det frigjorte Norge holdt.
