| Description |
English: The fireman on NG/G16 No. 87 had plenty of time to sit and wait between shovelling coal due to some kind of hiatus in the schedule. 87 had arrived with a mixed passenger and goods train with NG/G16 No. 143 piloting. 143 detached as planned and headed off back towards Caernarfon. Whether it was technical or administrative 87 didn't budge for the best part of an hour. Eventually a white van arrived and a chap emerged to a smattering of applause with either a key, a token or a big hammer and whatever the problem was it was sorted in a minute.
The (delayed) 14.20 p.m. service from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. |
