Summary[edit]

Description
English: Waterwheel pit, Nant y Garw mine These are the massive stone walls for the waterwheel that powered the pumps and possibly the winder at the engine shaft on Nant y Garw mine. The shaft is about 100 metres away and power was transmitted via a line of reciprocating flatrods carried on dolly posts, the fixings for which are still visible in several places on the rocks beside the Nant y Carw stream.
