| Description |
English: A view of the Wild Garden at Wave Hill in the Bronx, as seen during a June 2022 visit. Situated at the highest ground on the Wave Hill premises, the large Wild Garden features a dramatic landscape of narrow gravel paths cutting through sloping terrain that's planted with a diversity of species from around the world. Paradoxically, the overgrown look of the greenery here is the result of painstaking design that largely follows the principles of 19th-century garden architect William Robinson. Crowning it all is the rustic gazebo, which dates back to the ownership of the Perkins family and which still offers commanding views over the distant Hudson River. |
