Deutsch: Titelseite der Zeitung Kamloops Wawa von der 2. Ausgabe, Juni 1891. - Die linke Spalte ist in Chinook Wawa, der Sprache der Chinook-Indianer, geschrieben. Es handelt sich um eine Lernanweisung zur Schreibung von o, oo und ow in Wawa-Stenografie. - Jean-Marie-Raphaël Le Jeune (1855 - 1930) passte 1890 das französische Stenografie-System von Émile Duployé ans Chinook Wawa an und bezeichnete dieses Stenografie-System als Wawa shorthand. Von 1891 - 1903 gab Le Jeune die Zeitung Kamloops Wawa heraus, die fast vollständig (neben Englisch) in Wawa Shorthand geschrieben war.

The Chinook Jargon tutorial of the left column is written in Wawa shorthand. - Jean-Marie-Raphaël Le Jeune (1855 - 1930) adapted Duployan shorthand to Chinook Jargon in 1890. He called his shorthand system Wawa Shorthand and began to teach his method to the Indians. From 1891 until 1904 Le Jeune published the newspaper Kamloops Wawa which was nearly entirely written in Wawa Shorthand.
