Permission (Reusing this file) |
Peter, Peter Grieve passed you posting on to me for action. You may use any of my pictures of the Welland that are on www.aeroenginescarlisle.org.uk or on http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/terryjones72/RollsRoyceWelland?feat=directlink so long as you acknowledge that the copyright belongs to T L Jones. I don't know when you last visited the site but a recent change I have made provides the link to the many more pictures on a Picasa Web Album As you say the picture on Wikipedia is not a Welland but a W2B26 which was the forerunner of the Derwent and which upset Whittle so much. There are very few engineering drawings of the Welland in existence, even within Rolls Royce. There is a very large very early general arrangement drawing of the W2B in the National Archive in Kew in London. The best simple drawing is the one I have attached the original of which is also in the National Archive, you need permission to use it, the file reference is AIR10/4176 which you will have to give them. There should be no difficulty in getting permission, I believe they just want to know. To quote from the regulations, which apply to Wikipedia:- Applications for permission to use copies for publication (including website publication), exhibition or broadcast or any commercial purpose must be addressed to The National Archives Image Library, The National Archives, Kew, Surrey, TW9 4DU. E-mail: image-library@nationalarchives.gov.uk I look forward to reading your Wiki entry Best regards Terry Jones |
