| Description |
English: Wellingtonbridge railway station (2) Wellingtonbridge is a sleepy station on the line from Waterford to Rosslare Strand. South Wexford is associated with growing sugar beet and every year from late October to early January the crop is harvested and transferred by rail S8513 : Beet train, Wellingtonbridge from Wellingtonbridge station to the factory in Co Cork (the “beet campaign”). In line with policy made in Brussels for “streamlining” the European beet industry the factory had to close. A sad day for local farmers. This is Wellingtonbridge station looking towards Rosslare. |
