Summary[edit]

Description
English: Storage area for wheelchair lifts along the southbound platform of the 1923-built Ashland, Virginia Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad depot, now a historic Amtrak station, local visitor's center, and popular railfanning site. This view was from the northbound platform. The station had some major renovations in the 2010's, and originally I suspected this might've been a replica of a former freight house or an express house, but the structure is too small for that. It could've also been a replica of an old-fashioned crossing gate booth, but it's too far south from the Henry Clay Road / College Avenue railroad crossing.
