English: Original water colour on paper measuring (11 1/4 inches X 19 1/8 inches) done by renowned artist Henry Earp, circa 1860.

Henry Earp was head of a famous family of Brighton artists. He worked predominantly in watercolour, but occasionally in oil and he is best known for his paintings, like this landscape of the "Clayton Countryside" in Lancashire region. He exhibited widely at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, Royal Society of British Artists, Walker Gallery, Liverpool and Manchester City Art Gallery. Earp is a well-collected artist and his work is represented in many important collections including the Herbert Art Gallery and Brighton & Hove Galleries.

As well is being head of a dynasty of painters, Henry was cousin to the famous US Marshall Wyatt Earp.
