Item caption/descriptive text, back: 5. Als der dritte Söhn mitdem Wundertischlein und dem Goldesel nach Hause kam, veranstaltete der Vater Schneider ein großes Fest und lud alle Verwandten dazu. Mit dem Tischlein-deck-dich wurden diese aufs feinste bewirtet, so daß sie fröhlich und guter Dinge wurden. Dann mußte der Esel noch jedem Verwandten Gold speien, soviel sie wollten. Manche füllten sogar ihre Hüte. Als sie gar nicht nach Hause gehen wollten, ließ der Schneider den Knüppel aus dem Sack. Da zogen sie schleunigst ab und hatten überdies ein Andenken von blauen Striemen, das sie nicht gleich vergaßen. = When the third son came home with the miraculous table and the gold-spouting donkey, the father hosted a big party and invited all the relatives. They were entertained with the wonder table, so that they became happy and were all in good spirits. Then the donkey had to spout as much gold as any of the relatives desired. Some even filled their hats. When they didn't want to go home at all, the tailor let the cudgel out of the sack. Then they left as quickly as possible and, moreover, had a souvenir of blue welts, which they did not soon forget.
