Deutsch: Kap Hoorn ist der südlichste Punkt von Südamerika. Das eigentliche Kap ist ein Basaltfels mit einer Höhe von 424 Metern. Rechter Hand steht auf einem Plateau in ca. 240 Meter Höhe ein Leuchtturm mit angeschlossenem Wohnhaus sowie eine Kapelle und ein gewaltiges Monument aus Stahlplatten, das einen fliegenden Albatros darstellt. Die Anhöhe wird von einem einfachen Bootssteg aus über eine Holztreppe erreicht.
Simple English: Cape Horn is the southernmost point of South America. The actual cape is a basalt rock with a height of 424 meters. To the left, on a plateau at a height of approx. 240 meters, there is a lighthouse with an adjoining house, as well as a chapel and a huge monument made of steel plates depicting a flying albatross. The hill is reached from a simple landing stage via wooden stairs. |
