Description
English: Fig. S1 Type 1 Ediacaran embryo-like fossils with equal and synchronous cleavage. A-J, smooth or naked embryo-like fossils from the Ediacaran Weng’an Biota. A, 2-cell stage; B, 4-cell stage; C and D, 8-cell stage; E, 16-cell stage; F and G, 32-cell stage; H-O, 64-cell and late cleaving stages. K-Q, ornamented embryo-like fossils at early cleaving stages. R and S, close-up views of the ornamented envelopes marked by arrows in M and N, respectively. Note that P and Q lost the envelope secondarily, but the ornament imprints on the surface of the cells (arrows) indicate that they always had it before. Scale bar represents 10μm for S, 20μm for R, 100μm for the others.
