Description
English: Yofortierite (FOV ~ 3 cm wide)
Locality: Demix-Varennes quarry, Saint-Amable sill, Varennes & St-Amable, Lajemmerais RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
Found June 1996. MOB coll.
Accessory minerals include pink "eudialyte" (bottom left), pale pink serandite (top center - seen almost "head on") and very dark red manganoneptunite (e.g. far left center). These are all very small compared to the yofortierite.
The yellowish masses are probably powdery/caked smectite (group) with embedded yofortierite fibers.
