Purvinagari/Eastern Nagari[edit]
@अभय अग्रवाल: Purvi Nagari has 2 major scripts: Bengali (that includes most characters of the Unicode block, just except 2) and Assamese (that includes most characters of the unicode block, but excludes(-ed) some numbers, though in modern Assamese alphabet only the Bengali versions of those numbers are used). In Bengali script the character ৱ is used as a variant of র (ro) and while writing Sanskrit ব is used for both <ba> and <va>. In Assamese script র is a variant of ৱ (wo) and while writing Sanskrit in Assam, ৰ is used for <ra>, ৱ is used for <va> and ব is used for <ba>. So we can't mix both. If we do then it's a new alphabet and we don't have sources to support this. So in Bengali script the previous version is used (ব for both <va> and <ba>) and in Assamese script ৰ for <ra> and ৱ for <va>. Please add both separately. Msasag (talk) 04:03, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
Assamese and Bengali are not two different scripts, but two writing systems that share a common script. A distinction of the two does not seem to add any benefit to this overview. — Christoph Päper 12:10, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
