Gibraltar should have its own grey dot, being a UEFA member, but not a FIFA member.

Especially considering this map includes Monaco and Kosovo (neither of which are members of either)180.200.149.13 11:27, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And FWIW - that probably implies Guadeloupe and Martinique should be added in a similar way (which, perversely, might help people be able to guess which island in the Caribbean is which - do you really have ANY idea which one is which?) 180.200.149.13 11:47, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Zimbabwe[edit]

Zimbabwe entered, and were expelled. What colour for them? The Almightey Drill (talk) 13:22, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia[edit]

Nothing in the reference says they are out of the World Cup - unlike Zimbabwe (who were "expelled from the World Cup") they are "Suspended from FIFA" until they comply with whatever FIFA want them to do. This might mean they are on course to be out of the competition, but surely to claim they are already out is just WP:OR at best (and idle speculation at worst) - the World Cup match list still has the match against Chinese Taipei set to take place for example - and even if it doesn't it wouldn't mean they were expelled, only a notice of expulsion would. I know people like to show how up to date they are with everything, but the facts really need to match these sorts of claim. Just to show how wrong the claim is, Cameroon were suspended from FIFA on 4 July 2013 [1] - in the middle of CAF qualifying for WC2014, yet they played in the Brazil finals. Suspended is nothing like expelled 180.200.145.77 11:59, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Members Not Qualify on Map[edit]

At this moment, two others FIFA Members had not qualified for next phase on AFC Clasification. Kuwait suspension, not allowed Myanmar (Birmania) to reach the second place of its group, even if Myanmar win the only match it has left to play. Chinese Taipei, with zero points, neither has the possibility to reach second place of the "F" group. --190.19.7.198 20:59, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Guiana is grey[edit]

Guiana, despite being part of France, is coloured grey. It should be the same colour as the rest of France.

Exactly I just wanted to write the same. French Guyana is part of France. Therefore it should be in blue. --ALE! ¿…? 01:32, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And Greenland is a part of Denmark. If you don't believe me, ask Jesper Grønkjær .--Vitriden (talk) 10:08, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
French Guiana and Greenland are in grey because they have their own national football teams that are recognised by FIFA, but are not FIFA members. GazThomas402 (talk) 17:08, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yellow dot in Russia?[edit]

What is the yellow dot in Russia representing? --ALE! ¿…? 01:48, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The host country. More specifically, the location of the venue for the final game (Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow). 46.236.114.176 23:02, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is it possible to choose a different color? Yellow is already used to indicate teams that failed to qualify. Using the same color to mark something different isn't a good idea. -- Westward ... Ho! (talk) 14:45, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kuwait[edit]

Should be black

Kuwait are in yellow because they were suspended from FIFA after they had starting playing qualification matches. Countries are only marked in black if they were disqualified before playing any matches.
However, I think it would be better if Kuwait and Barbados were marked in black since they were both eliminated from qualifying as a result of their disqualifications. GazThomas402 (talk) 17:11, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Crimea in grey[edit]

@Nate Hooper: (and everybody else) I leave this message here because the comment box did not seem enough to explain this case as clearly as I wished to. I think we can settle this issue using sporting point of view. Please be noticed that UEFA has not considered Crimea a part of Russia, and banned Crimean clubs from joining Russian leagues. A Crimean Premier League has been created and managed directly by UEFA. Therefore, in my opinion, we can use grey for Crimea. Please leave some words below if you have any ideas. Thanks :) Centaur271188 (talk) 06:40, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Centaur271188: Thanks for your response. Yeah, I left a longer explanation, but it got cut out. I actually think your edit is a good idea. There didn't seem to be any way to colour it without having some people unhappy, most maps of Russia and Ukraine label Crimea as disputed, so your map is probably the least biased way to do it. Thanks for your work. Nate Hooper (talk) 07:04, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
