Pan name[edit]

According to English Wikipedia, this is a soprano or tenor pan and those terms are synonyms, but the label on this one clearly reads treble.

The image description has had an interesting history.

An English Wikipedia contributor who made many contributions on the subject but has not been seen for many years changed the description from treble to tenor without my knowledge, years ago, and I only just found out. Wikipedia has deleted those contributions (a strange interpretation of the copyleft licences IMO, but there you are) but I can send them to the curious as I have admin rights there.

More recently, another English Wikipedia contributor, this time unregistered (ie an IP), entered the comment This is NOT a Tenor Pan its a Soprano Pan!.

Treble, tenor, or soprano, it's an interesting story. I think stick with treble, but interested in other views. Unfortunately I don't have access to the instrument any more to even say how many notes it has but I have played it and it was chromatic, which I think marks it as the top register.
