Is this flag an existing flag or is it a creation of Wikipedia? This file needs a source. It is appearing in Kurdish Wikipedia as well, as the flag of Northern Kurdistan, Western Kurdistan, etc. And here it is called a Yezidi flag. It's a beautiful flag, but unfortunately I don't think it authentical. --MikaelF (talk) 15:43, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not in FOTW that I can find, and File:Yezidi Flag.jpg is completely different. However, "Jesidische" is the German-language version of Yezidi... AnonMoos (talk) 22:55, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't the File:Yezidi Flag.jpg also a creation of Wikipedia? People are free to create what flag they want, but I think it is confusing when it is presented in Wikipedia as the Flag of the yezidis, Flag of Northern Kurdistan, without a source (informing about where the flag comes from, or what political party or organization is behind it, the history, etc). As far as I understand File:Flag of Kurdistan.svg is the flag of the Kurdish autonomous government in Iraq and still considered the flag of all the Kurds (in Turkey, Syria, Iran, Iraq) and Kurdistan. Is there any template we could add to this and similar files? ----MikaelF (talk) 06:57, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The flag is unsourced and possibly problematic, but I don't understand why you keep confusing Yezidism (a religious grouping) with Kurdish politics. AnonMoos (talk) 10:52, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I started a DR, such flag are confusing and spread wrong information.--Antemister (talk) 12:31, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(translated with "google translate")hi, just because no one knows a flag, it does not mean that it has been invented. The flag File:Yezidi Flag.jpg is a flag of the Yezidi party in iraq see: http://ezidi-islah.net/showthread.php?getid=3506. my flag is the traditional flag with traditional colors of the Yezidis. It is banned in their homeland. is used in religious festivals abroad. It is mentioned in the anthem of the Yezidi religious http://ciwanen-ezidi.de/pdf/Sherfedin1.pdf see page 6: "[...] Şuhbêtî bûkan bixemlînin Sindirûkêt kesk û sor û zer derînin Hem bi rêya navê Siltan Êziyê (êrîn li ser xwe binîn." kesk û sor û zer means green, red, yellow

Bagok, the reason I started this discussion was that this file was used in the Kurdish Wikipedia, where I am an active editor, where it was used as the flag of the Syrian Kurds (which surprised me to know) and also I found it here, now as a Yezidi flag (which also half-surprised me). I haven't seen this flag anywhere else but in Wikipedia. Which is OK. But I would appreciate a source, by whom it was created, since when and by which organization it is used or proposed to be used, etc. "Kesk û sor û zer" is how the flag (this one?) is called in many Kurdish songs and anthems, like the the Union Jack by the English and the Stars and Stripes by the Americans, these are the traditional Kurdish (and Yezidi) colours, which still are outlawed in some countries, but not in the Kurdish autonomous region of Iraq. [[Category:Green, red, yellow flags]]

be replaced by:

Also, can the following be added:
