Text of e-mail releasing photo[edit]

Peter, I’m glad that you were able to find some useful pictures, feel free to use as many as you like. I train PS teams all over the Northeast, all of the pictures are mine, not my department’s. If you are going to credit the picture you can simply use my name. Looks like CC-by-sa is the appropriate release type, so unless you have further questions or comments, please consider this email permission to use my images. Thanks, and good luck with your project!...Bill

Hi Bill, Thanks for the offer, I took a brief look at your album and it looks like there are quite a few useful photos. Spoiled for choice even,

Do you want to release on CC-by-sa licence or public domain? CC- by sa means anyone can use them but must provide acknowledgement of the source (I.e., you), and PD means anyone can use them as they like without having to mention where they came from. Material from US federal sources usually is released PD, but your department is not federal and you retain the rights to release as you choose. Wikipedia standard is CC-by-sa.

A response to this mail stating your preference will be sufficient evidence of your permission for Wikipedia. I have used e-mail permissions often and there has never been a problem. I just copy the mail text to the talk page of each photo for reference.

Cheers, Peter

Hi Peter, if you see anything in this gallery that suits your purpose, you are welcome to use it. All of the pictures are mine, I can sign a release if you like. If you get a chance, please send links to the wiki pages that you are working on, I would love to see how they turn out...Bill https://www.facebook.com/groups/185094154164/photos/
