Phrasing of the caption

The image is a focus stack montage of captured in compensated polarised light microscopy.

Should that say "The image is a focus stack montage captured in compensated polarised light microscopy"?

In plane polarised light, birefringent structures within the body of the creature appear to glow

Should that say "In plain polarised light", or does "plane polarised light" mean that it's polarised according to its position in one plane or another or something? Part of the problem is that I don't understand some of the explanations, so if anyone would like to further explain some of the concepts, that would be great, but at least the two passages I quote above should be addressed.
