A try at Icelandic translation

[edit]

I do not speak Icelandic myself but I found a page that used "Fánar þeirra ríkja sem tilheyra Norðurlöndunum" as caption for this image. Many of the words I can figure out by knowing Swedish. However, "þeirra" was a tough one. After having looked at some icelandic texts side by side with English translations, it seems to me that it means "their" or at least some kind of belonging. The two words are probably even pronounced similarily. All in all, I believe that the phrase could be translated "Flags of the countries that belong to the Nordic countries". Yeah, it sounds a bit akward in English because I can't come up with a single word meaning "the Nordic countries". I added the Icelandic phrase to the description page. Please correct it if needed. —Bromskloss 12:43, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
