Why does so many uploaders not give a sufficently detailed explanation with their diagrams!?

What does the colours mean? There are a lot of different colours in the diagram! There are red bars and blue bars and sometimes the bars have a red and a blue portion. What does that mean? And what does the background colours in the taxon column stand for? OK, I’m quite sure they stand for the higher groupings, but which ones? Also it is always nice not to have a simple numeric time scale but also to have the names of the geologic time units and their subunits attached to it... --Gretarsson (talk) 01:48, 8 August 2019 (UTC)
