Non-secular states[edit]

The United Kingdom is not a secular state, as the official church is the Church of England. Israel is not one either, as Judaism is the de facto official religion, and Jewish law is largely the law of the land. I don't know how to change the map, but can someone edit the map to reflect this.Hihellowhatsup 00:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Updated. If there are any changes post them here :) Anon 09:46, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do some research[edit]

It would do the creator of this image some good to do some research before making such a claim, or at least, not to redefine "secular state." A secular state is one which does not have a official, state-sanctioned religion.

The United Kingdom is not a secular state. Its established religion in England, and has been for CENTURIES, the Anglican church, a.k.a. the "Church of England." The Presbyterian church, a.k.a. the "Church of Scotland," is the official church of Scotland. Denmark and Iceland officially recognize the Lutheran church. Mexico officially recognizes the Roman Catholic Church. This map is LADEN with errors and misrepresentation of fact!

Even the Wikipedia entry on state religion will provide much information contrary to this map's claims. Frankly, I suggest it be removed until it is corrected lest it be used to spread misinformation. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 150.200.42.177 (talk) 17:51, December 19, 2008‎ (UTC)
