Original Version of this Painting[edit]

On this website there is a photo of the portrait at the The Rooms Museum in St. John. The Museum description says: ""This miniature portrait of 'A female Red Indian of Nfld.' painted by William Gosse at St. John's in July 1841 is believed to portray Shanawdithit." The National Archives of Canada Library, Call number: ARCH E99 B4H8, has a drawing called "Last survivor of the Beothucks so far as is known. Captured in 1823, died in St. John's in 1829". (Item ID number: 2928660). The first painting seems to be more original than "Shanawdithit portrait.jpg". Artanisen (talk) 16:32, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
