This is obviously not a log plot, so the title of the y axis should be corrected. It should be I/I_0.

Thanks for the hint. However, currently I am not able to correct this since there is something wrong with my Gimp installation. In order to get smoother appearance I first generate a Postscript via Gnuplot and convert it via Gimp to PNG (or maybe it might also work with SVG; I have no experience with SVG, except for that it apparently doesn't work properly with Gnuplot). But for some weird reason Gimp cannot handle Postscript any longer (maybe some plugin did work for early versions, but no longer with the current one).
If anybody finds him/herself able to correct and convert the image (or to give hints how to fix the gimp problem), he/she is welcome.--SiriusB 22:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I could upload a new PNG version (SVG does not seem to be possible with GIMP :-( ) where the "lg" has been removed by editing with GIMP. However, it has been quite a while since I last replaced a file on Commons, and much has changed since then. What is the best and cleanest way to simply replace an existing file without changing the information page?--SiriusB 23:00, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Update: PNG version has been replaced with corrected y label. Creation of a SVG version will not be possible soon; although Gnuplot has an SVG terminal its output is apparently not compatible with most viewers (including that of Firefox), so that the image does not show what it is meant to. Therefore I currently see no way to create an SVG from the source that is shown properly by current web browsers. This is a known problem and probably more a fault of the viewers than of Gnuplot, as discussed in this newsgroup discussion. However if anyone has a tool so create graphs as proper SVGs he/she could is welcome to do this since the required data are all given in the formulas and numbers on the description page.--SiriusB 08:45, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
