In Canada, not Alaska[edit]

This is actually taken on the Klondike Highway on the British Columbia side of the border, just a bit north of the USA–Canada border itself. It seems to be at the northern (downhill) end of the Summit Rest Area, looking northeast toward the Summit Lake Lookout, or perhaps a bit further along from there before the subalpine fir start to grow to shoulder height. In any case, it is definitely on the Canadian side of the border and not the Alaskan side: the wide valleys of broken rocks only occur on the Canadian side past the summit; on the Alaska side the valley is quite steep and narrow. The three-peaked mountain on the left is also definitely in BC and not Alaska. The orange sign in the distance is an avalanche warning that says “DO NOT STOP”, and this and the black and white snow posts along the edge of the road are characteristic for the Canadian side of the highway and not the Alaskan side. 50.117.192.28 19:35, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
